Yandina Peregian return ride report. 28/3/2021

Open spaces, Blue skies, mountain back drops and no rain!! was a fitting lure getting everyone out on the “Wide Open Road”

Yandina departed the warmc up started, heading NW out Browns creek rd, Lees rd and across to the Sleepy climbs of North Arm.  Taking in the view of Mt Ninderry, several leaders battled for KOM status maybe dreaming of a yellow jersey from another discipline.

Stopping at Targoo rd collecting the shorter loop riders and regrouping, slight delay waiting for an E bike battery that forgot to eat E oats prior to the ride.

Full complement of 25 riders powered through Ninderry , Valdora and the back door to Peregian springs following the scent trail to the Bakery and various coffee shops of Peregian beach .

Beverages and buns buried, the journey West through North Coolum tracks and back through undulating sweeping corners mixture of gravel and tar.  Sights include the odd Lama, 4wd Bogan, cranky lady, shaggy dogs, some white lines++, oh and the obligatory dead toad on the road ……

Temps on the rise spread the pack with regroup points allowing for social banter.  Stage racing had the big guns battle it out on pinchy climbs with the Lad from Cooroy taking the lead over the Mexican machine. 35km and 62km completed in a different but very enjoyable ride.

Really great effort for newer club members and longest ride for Dion, nice work everyone.
